I am tentatively exploring the possibility of inviting applications for an internship on our One Planet Development project in West Wales. It might look something like this:
1. An internship on an establishing Permaculture project
2. 4-5 months internship, 20-25 hours work a week on a range of land based and eco-building projects. Very varied.
3. Study for your PDC as part of the internship. 4-5 hours a week study with an experienced Pc tutor and a PDC at the end.
4. Accommodation and produce from the garden provided. All other costs covered by the intern.
Now, what I'd like feedback on is whether that sounds equitable. I am very interested in using this as a model for teaching Pc going forwards rather than the courses I have been lucky enough to teach, and what our project needs is more keen energetic people. I think I'd be looking for either one intern or a couple. Presently my idea is that we'd build a straw bale cabin for rustic accommodation in the first couple of weeks of the internship, and run the first one from June to October/November.
Could I ask for some supportive and constructive feedback around this idea please? If anyone is immediately grabbed by this idea would like to do it, just say so, and we can start a conversation.
