Divinya is home to a living and learning yoga community – a group of people who practice yoga as a way of living. The spiritual community, inspired by Guruji, consists of people from different countries and mixed age groups, with various talents and capacities. The community is actively engaged in creating a profound holistic living and learning atmosphere, with ecological farming, nature conservation and research on educational methodology believing in personal transformation and common good. Everyone visiting Divinya enters into this unique experience of being part of a global family rather than being a guest.

Dear Alex,

Thank you for your interest.
Yes, we will arrange other permaculture courses in divinya.

Anyways you are always welcome to visit us throughout the year. The course will be an introduction to a long term permaculture project in divinya and the six months course "ecology and spirituality."
The goal is to establish permaculture in divinya generally.  So be welcome to visit!
We are always happy to connect with people who are interested in a holistic way of living.

For further information on our programmes visit our website www.divinya.org or contact us on info@divinya.org

We wish you a successful permaculture year!
Warm regards

Siggi Meier wrote:Hello again,

I have another question.

Do I need to have experience in permaculture?

Thank you!

Siggi

Hello Siggi,

You don't need to have experience in permaculture.
But it's also ok if you have some.
Most important is, that you stay open for new experiences. :-)
Hello Carina!

Carina Schenk wrote:How much is the course and are there some student discounts?

The course fee is EUR 840,- for the whole program ( from 2nd to 30th of April)
including accommodation in your own tent and food.

There is no students discount since the price is already very low and should be affordable for everyone.
But there are scholarships available.

For further information please look at our website: https://divinya.org/permaculture-design/
Hello Siggi!

Thank you for your interest in the course!

Siggi Meier wrote:This sounds like a really interesting course. What other activities apart from the permaculture course will happen there?

Since it's a spiritual center I can imagine there will be other practices...

Yes, we will also have other activities during the course period.
There will be an easter Retreat with Guruji Sri Vast from the 19th to 21st of April.
It consists of satsangs, yoga practice and chanting. For furhter information please visit https://divinya.org/the-meeting-with-guruji/
Then there will also be yoga-weekends every week with sessions of inner yoga and hatha yoga, satsangs with guruji and the possibility of doing seva (selfless service).
All the program held during that period in Divinya will be included in the permaculture design course fee.
So if you're interested in yoga and spirituality you're very welcome to join the rest of the program too.

If you have any other questions be welcome to ask more

Hi Tommy!

Thanks for asking about accommodation and meals.
That's a very important question indeed.

Meals are completely included in the course fee.

Regarding the accommodation we have three options:

You can either bring your own tent and live there for the whole period ( this is included in the course fee)
Or if you don't have a tent or prefer a more spacious comfortable version, you can rent a safari tent for EUR 600 per month.
If you want a big bed and full furniture (like a house in the park) you can choose the luxury tent version for EUR 1200 per month.

Did that answer your question fully?

Welcome to Divinya and its unique Permaculture Design Course

  • Learn intensive permaculture design and horticultural techniques to garden from seed to seed in most ecosystems and climates.
  • Participate in the collective design and planting of a 1 hectar permaculture garden.

  • Permaculture Design is a beautiful tool to deepen and develop your participation in the ecosystem (Nature). Permaculture techniques are a foundation for understanding the gifts nature provides freely to sustain us. This 1 month training is an individual course in Divinya and also the introductory month for the 6-month Ecology and Spirituality course, where the longterm students will continue the permaculture garden project as part of their main living and learning experience.

The one month residential course is a blending of Permaculture Design approach to gardening combined with the values of the Divinya living and learning community. This month-long initiation will include an introduction to permaculture theory balanced with practical, hands-on gardening techniques and experiences.

This course is suitable for the ones who
  • Wish to learn how to sustainably grow organic food using agroforestry and polyculture techniques
  • Seek to practically deepen their understanding of and work with the regenerative systems, cycles and influences in nature
  • Want to collectively design and realise an ecological garden

  • During this course you will learn
  • To design sustainable gardens and polycultures according to site analysis and permaculture principles
  • To grow plants from seeding to harvesting to seed saving and everything in between
  • To regenerate soils and use the natural resources on a site including water, wind and sun
  • To plan and plant a garden and greenhouse for seasonal harvests throughout the year according to your needs

  • After completing this course you will be able to:
  • Design, prepare and plant a regenerative and polyculture garden from its beginning
  • Identify the natural resources available in nature and direct them in your garden design
  • Identify and calculate vegetable and fruit requirements and produce enough to feed your community throughout the year
  • Produce most varieties of vegetables, bushes and trees from seed or vegetative multiplication
  • Produce high quality compost and regenerative soil systems

  • Program
Each day includes theory and practical classes, with 2 blocks of class time of approximately 2-3 hours each, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, 5 days a week. There will also be times to collectively work on the overall development of the Divinya gardens each week.
On the weekends we have Yoga Weekends and a retreat The Meeting with Guruji Sri Vast on April 19 – 21. The permaculture design course includes those weekend programs without extra charge.

    About the teacher:
Caroline Levesque lives in Canada where she is a member of a permaculture cooperative that provides permaculture design and landscaping services, education and organic produce to the local community. She is also an organic certification inspector. Caroline, who is in this field for more than 12 years, has co-created and monitored various organic farms in Canada. Caroline brings a practical, inclusive, and participatory approach to gardening and believes everyone is a gardener at heart.
