I've had dozens on me , over many years of working in the woods.  Spring time is the worst. I have never had a bad reaction , but others sure have.

Can you tell whether it's male or female? Because now I'm worried about diseases.

It was biting and got a blood drop when removed. Still alive and kicking inside its water bottle cage!
