D’Artagnan Foundation is creating an experimental farm. If the idea of a Gascony traditional farm crossed with Polyface and Rodale Institute with a dose of Practical Action thrown in appeals to you, we could use your help!
What we’ve done so far:
-purchased 15 acres of land in Goshen, NY with a barn and house on it (more land available upon which to expand)
-decided we’ll follow regenerative agriculture practices. This farm will include rotational grazing, silvopasture, a greenhouse, a restaurant, extensive educational programs, a bakery, a flower garden, and a small slaughterhouse.
-realized we need full-time help:
The ideal farmer will have at least 3 years of experience running a high-yield, sustainable farm that produced both animal and vegetable products while sequestering carbon, securing grant funding, and documenting it all. We’re willing to consider especially enthusiastic candidates with less experience, and this could be a good fit for 2 friends / a couple. Room, board, and compensation are provided.
