Certainly looks like Gravenstein - it would be a very common apple in a multi-grafted nursery tree. The mottled stripes are a giveaway. Apples are generally some of the earliest to ripen and are big, juicy and a bit on the grainy side. Not a bad early juicing apple and some folks will make a hard cider out of it. Cheers!
