She changed the name to a PCDC (permaculture community design certificate).  Kinda silly, but I guess that works.  I'm trying to figure out how to delete this thread just to be nice.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  I have not had a response to my polite email.  I did bring it up with a larger permie org and they told me they would reach out to her.

I hold PDCs very highly.  If anything, they need to be more advanced than they already are, we cannot let them devolve ane degrade.

Hopefully, some community education is all that is needed to resolve this issue.  

My understanding is PDCs need to include 72 hours of class time and have the curriculum based on the designer's manual.  

Unfortunately I found someone who is claiming to give away certificates for a course that has about 10 hours of class time and not built around the designers Manuel.  What is to stop people from giving away fake PDCs and hurting the integrity of the program?  Is this a big problem? Do we need to create some sort of official oversight committee?  

What can be done about this course?  I emailed them, but no response.

Also, they are also claiming to be giving a certificate after people complete this two day long conference.  90% of the conference has nothing to do with permaculture.  Most of the speakers are not permaculturists (including a local politician), and for some reason they are calling this an 'International Permaculture Conference' and giving away PDC certificates.  I'm not sure if this person is confused about what a PDC is or what.

I think it is up to us to hold people accountable, educate folks about what a proper PDC entails, and protect the integrity of what a PDC means.  Any help addressing this and advice would be appreciated.
