It’s definitely not Vermont. Must be nice though

Maybe it’s worth the effort to find out.  

I’m just starting this year with my food forest and experimenting with a variety of methods. I have noticed that cardboard and paper mulching drys quickly around the edges though it seems to stay moist underneath enough to degrade I hope. Maybe watering the plot heavily before planting, and after sowing, may help with the process.

Should I be covering cold sensitive crops this week? The forecast is a bit chilly today and am wondering if any other permies have thoughts on this.

Maybe the plants can tolerate temps in the low 50s for a little bit.

Or do I throw some more straw around the plants to keep them a bit more protected. I’ll probably do this just to be more safe, than sorry.
