The name changed? Can we get the current IC.org link? I may refer some people to it.

Wolf River Community is firming up. We'd still like to have you  there at the beginning. Check out the information and drop us an email if you like what you see.

I'm more than a bit worried about the water situation. I'd suggest you price getting a well dug. Also, be set up to do and store a lot of canning. How far is the closest farmers market that you could sell things in?
Are you able to get a very large water tank and funnel roof water to it?

I'm not the best one to comment on this though, so I'll leave it to others better qualified.

I'm still hoping to find like-minded folks to get together and start an intentional community in the area, but, until those people materialize, I am willing to trade work for a safe place to park the car and some food. (I would love a small area to store some things, as well, but that isn't required.) I can simply sleep in the car, as long as you have a tornado shelter or similar nearby, just in case, lol.

I would like to earn some money toward the dream, so I would prefer a place near or even in, suburbia where I could earn by mowing grass, etc. Someplace in or near Bartlett/Piperton/Cordova etc. would be ideal. Thanks.

As always, I am open to alternative suggestions.

There have been several Intentional Communities established in the state over the years, however, I know of none in this area. This, despite a great deal of interest that I have stumbled across.

I'd love it if we could come together on something.

What I would like to find is folks (from anywhere) who would help build a community that provides for basic needs and that could be used to teach skills. Individuals would be welcome to run a craft for their own enjoyment and profit, but food production, meals, water and power would be a _community_ effort. Any crafters would be encouraged to hold classes or at least allow onlookers.

I envision some (hopefully) inexpensive but good land relatively isolated, but near enough to civilization that we could allow people to visit and learn. If on or near one of our many rivers (a very green state) someone might eventually run a canoeing or camping outfitter. If anyone already has land that could be used, whether by donation or long term (cheap) lease, I'd certainly also be interested in talking.

( ED: Land will need access to a permanent water source. The Wolf river, among several, winds thru here, which may be an additional help. Farmland in this area can be as cheap as under $1000 per acre in bulk, but is more likely to be $3000 per acre or more for plots of under 50. Check someplace like zillow for examples. )

Non-denominational, respectful of beliefs/race and peaceful. Lots of fruit trees and perennials

Any takers?
