Total newbie who is attempting to put in a driven point well at my cabin in Maine. Soil is extremely hard clay. I have driven a 3 foot well point and 10 feet of galvanized pipe down and have a reservoir of about 8 feet. Everything looks good so far. The problem is when I install a pitcher pump I get nothing.I have tried the pitcher pump with and without a check valve underneath it. No water either way, only difference is with the check valve the pump dosent lose prime, keeps suction but never brings up water. I have tried removing the pump and filling the last few feet with water but the water level will not rise and I get water coming up around the pipe on top of the ground. I am at a total loss. The only thing I can come up with is putting the check valve on the end of the pipe, adding another section of pipe, and driving the check valve down to the water level, thereby eliminating any air in the pipe. Sorry about the epic saga, but if anybody has another solution or idea what the problem could be, I would be forever in their debt. Thanks in advance.
