I'm interested in finding ecological uses for Japanese knotweed. Experimenting with how long it takes to solarize/steam stems and leaves so it can be safely used as a compost or mulch additive now. Making biochar with it seems like a win all the way around. It's been 8 years since this thread was active. Has anyone had tried either of these methods and could you let us know your findings?
