Hi, I have grown red roach for quite a number of years.
I don't consume it but love the colour in the herbaceous border.
This year it has grown to about 8ft,but some clumps I have cut the tops out at 1ft.
these bushed out and i have nice cut the tops off the side shoots, producing a very bushy plant.
Its nice to be able to have the rich deep red foliage plants at different heights in various areas in the herbaceous
border.
in the UK the start growing late winter to early spring, and is frost hardy.
Beware thought seeds everywhere! so I tend to take off the flowers as they die off and collect the huge amount of seeds they produce.
they are best sown where you want them to grow than transplant them from a seed tray.
