Hi there!

We have a 1/4 acre permaculture homestead in Orange City, FL. The food forest is going on its 5th year, and we raise goats ducks and chickens for eggs milk and meat. We are also commercial aquaculturists in Cedar Key, which is starting to make homesteading by ourselves a little tricky.

We are looking for someone to share all this with, who wants to dig in and learn with us. There is a lot already in place but we are constantly adapting to increase efficiency with our space and our systems. This person would also farm sit when we take our trips to Cedar Key. Or even help with our clam farm if that is where the interest lies.

Our house is 1500sf and there is a private room and semi private bathroom available. The neighborhood backs up to a wilderness preserve, Blue Spring State Park is really close and there's awesome kayaking and bike trails available. We can offer housing and an opportunity for hands on learning, in exchange for an agreed upon amount of help. We would also ask for at least a 3 month commitment.

My husband and I are mid 30s, no kids. Before homesteading we did a lot of traveling and we love music and cooking. I had just started professionally singing before the pandemic.

Anyway I am not sure if you have already found your opportunity. But if this interests you or anyone reading this, let me know and we can chat a little

Hi!! My husband and I (mid thirties) are looking for a housemate to share our little homestead. We have fruit trees, goats, chickens and ducks at the moment. Trying to convince our neighbors to let us run rabbit tractors on their lawn There is a lot going on on our small plot but it works, it's abundant and there's plenty of room to grow more!! We are clam farmers and make weekly trips to Cedar Key, often overnight. We really need someone with animal experience and a permaculture mindset who can hold down the farm when we're gone. Also if there is any interest in learning clam farming there is opportunity to work on the water as well. It is a private bedroom with a mostly private bathroom in a 1500 sf house on 1/4 acre. There is a rent baseline that is reduced by farm sitting and agreed upon work/expertise that you are able to contribute. We are in an eclectic neighborhood that backs up to a wilderness preserve and is about 2 miles to the nearest store. We prefer a single person but open to the possibility of sharing the house with a couple. Our long term goal is to have community land closer to the gulf coast but we see ourselves here for at least 2 more years.
