Hi there! I'm new to this wonderful community and loving every minute of it. I am wondering if there are other Canadians amid the members and curious to hear about you, your dreams and your plans. I'll start. My name is Carter-James and my dream is to create a beautiful community that focuses on vegan, organic permaculture to grow our own food and ensure food security, while providing communal spaces to nourish a sense of community and support. The last few years, I've come to learn that I need more community and connection in my life, and I'm not alone. Many people I speak to echo my sentiments of feeling alone, struggling and uncertainty for the future. Thus the idea of finding/creating a community was born. My partner and I are the only people in our friend groups that is serious about leaving the urban lifestyle so we are looking to connect with other like-minded folks and are eager to learn more about existing permaculture farms, and intentional communities/villages that exist in Canada. We're currently living on the West Coast, but we're open to settling down out East too.
In all honesty, we don't fully know how things will unfold, but we are compelled to our future we've lovingly called our "Modern Hobbiton", or "Shire Vibes Community". Embodying the acceptance, simple, slow life of Hobbits is all we want. If this resonates with anyone, we'd love to hear from you
