Thank you, Mike. Rid-X looks good for the in drum action, but says nothing about the ability to use as a cleaning agent. Need a product to clean the drum intake port; urine, and near misses, if you get my drift. I guess a mild soap solution is the answer. Two separate products, then.

I’ve been using a commercial spray product, from one of the toilet manufacturers, to clean the seat area, and spray into the compost toilet before drum rotation. It is supposed to enhance the microorganism activity. It seems to work, and I have no smells coming form the toilet. The sole problem is the cost: 27.00 for a 16 oz. container. That’s on a par with a pretty good wine, ounce for ounce. Does anyone have a recipe for a home made version of a non toxic cleaner, like this? I’d love to not have the expense of buying this stuff, as I’m certain it is a very simple, cheap concoction. Thank you.
