If the link doesn't for you try a search for "how to find a map of natural spring in Portugal"

Researchgate is almost like the Vatican Library. A normal person cannot access it. Why is nobody sharing account over bugmenot?

I found this map already of public water points https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=16HIS6JrzSlWqjVq4MoC2dk7LM1w&msa=0&dg=feature

What I am really looking for; a map similar to the ones available in Spain (there they are very detailed in the catrastro viewer, google maps and there is regadiahistoria which maps acequias). in Spain a lot more money was spent on land surveys/catrastro/water/geological surveys, because of EU funding

Where can I find a water map of Portugal?

In Spain you can see all the barrancos, acequias on google maps, but for Portugal only the rivers and bassins.

I want to know where there are mountains with natural springs/sources?

thank you all,

If you do get this legal status, one is entitled to drinking water and electricity. Which means expenses the local government has to cough up.That people here say Portugal is less strict makes sense in the light of my musings.

Young people everywhere are dreaming of tiny houses and living free, meaningfull lives. Conservative powers hate to see us succeed. We're not very organized and easy to disperse, but never give up because of the nightmarish livestyle they envision for us to embrace.

I would formulate it differently, a legal "house" has to have running water and electricity. Without that you cannot get an occupancy certificate to register your paper fiction over there

Me and my partner are looking forward to buy some land to build our own cob house.
We initially thought about Spain and the thought of it still very much lingers with us.
Although while browsing on the internet we met with sad stories about the possibility of getting your house demolished if you dont have the right permits and so on.
And these permits to build a cob house seem quite expensive and a bit hard to get.
Money wouldnt be much of a problem if we would find our dream spot in spain, if anyone of you has had any experiences with this and can help us find some legal advice regarding spain, i would be immensely grateful.
Also if anyone of you knows about laws and building codes for cob houses anywhere else in europe, would be really appreciated. We are also open to explore other options and countries.
Much love to you all, and thank you in advance.

A "house" has a concrete foundation.

Like I mentioned in another thread, Spain has many properties with agricultural buildings which can be used as a house, as long as you do not register your paper fiction over there.

And yes, you can build a cob house, why not build underground with a green roof so it is invisible?

The cost of the risk of demolition do not weigh up to the cost of building legally, if you can break away from the program of fear and laws.

Depends on how you define "build a house".

There is a lot possible without a building permit for a residence, without concrete foundations, or registered as an agricultural building.

As far as I know, registering your paper fiction on the land might take a "certificate of habitability of the house" otherwise they might deem it "unfit for living" and might "have to" provide you with alternative housing in a "suitable location", ie on concrete.
I would advise you to

- Investigate the real estate scams in Bulgaria yourself (read up on My Bulgaria Forum.

- Contact multiple people like the ones I mentioned and others on for example helpx and workaway, travel to different regios and see what you like best

I forgot about the straw bale house people. If you search for straw bale house bulgaria you will find a post on mybulgaria forum and workaway.

"A place that isn't heavily controlled by the government" --> You have just ruled out all countries on Earth, all of them will get the RNA vaccinations, 5G satellites etc.
Also not even the jungle is safe anymore -> deforestation, killing of natives etc.

Get as far away from civilization as possible, would be my advise.

What I have seen;
- A british real estate agent offering me a house in EURO amount, paying the same amount in LEV to the owners (half the price)

- The same guy buying properties off auctions of disposessed people -> There you can buy a house for about half of what cheap bulgarian house offers. Just find a lawyer to tag along when you go to / respond to an auction

- Scams involving properties with incorrent/fake title deeds or ready made companies (read up on the SAMAX ebay scam)

- I got a translator. So obviously asked the real estate agent, provide the papers in english and bulgarian. Then he invites me to a shady notary, who wanted me to sign on the spot, documents in Bulgarian.
Obviously I said, no I want them in both Bulgarian and English, then I can verify if you are trying to defraud me or not. And walked out of the office because he did not want to provide it

- Houses which are falling apart, painted a bit, and sold as if they are still habitable

Oh yeah I forgot, the best welcome  I ever had, meeting a village lady (around 70 years old), selling her second property. Go by personal references and personal contact, not estate agents.

One example, when I went to the town hall for land ownership document verification, they mayor asked "why did you go to an estate agent, why not ask us for help" ..

Makes sense, if you have a trustworthy mayor, not like the ones in Spain who converted land from agricultural to building land status, pocketed a lot of money, and once they left, everybody had to buy other septic tanks to stay legal (before that they wanted to demolish the illegal constructions)

Also, there is https://ecovillage.org/gen_country/bulgaria/

Well. If you really want to chop wood for 9 of 12 months, Bulgaria is great.

I was there in 2009, looked at some properties, but met quite some con men.

Would advise you to look at diggers and dreamers (there is a couple on there living in Bulgaria), or Kathy in Voditsa if she is still around.

Houses, there is a website called "cheap bulgarian house" which looks like the only reputable real estate agent I have found (avoid Bulgarianproperties and ebay)

Would be good to check out the mybulgaria forum, outdated, but it can prepare you

Also there might be some interesting people/hosts on workaway and helpx

I am one of the lucky people on this planet to have IBS and a plethora of other food allergies/intolerances.

It means that I can only eat carrots, potatoes, tuscan kale and small amounts of pumpkin.

This makes cultivation easy,  not a lot of varities to grow (I also have purple and red carrots to get some colors in the mix), and my fat source is olive oil and chiaseed oil.

However, this leaves proteins. I really want to be able to grow all food myself, and for me rice protein (and possible pumpkin seed protein) is the only option for me.
(intolerenance for protein rich vegetables, allergic to whey and soy protein, red meats, chicken-like meats, and I do not eat pork)

But, .... How can I extract this myself at home? Does anyone have experience with this? It sounds so easy "separate the soluable rice protein from the rice")

If not, rabbit meat is my only remaining option.
