Myself, my family of 5, another family of three are moving away from the" use it throw it away" wasteful culture to the wild America to live in peace.

We are
going to be building using materials from the land (as much as possible) %80
            projected

using many techniques learned on this web site and other like minded.

building a community with a common goal

            Using alternative energy exclusively

Using Alternative Building practices to build a community shared Home.

Using sustainable practices for many aspects of the project.

We plan do document this entire project from the beginning, and are currently looking for sponsors and or donations to get some of our expenses under control. The project will go forward whether way but expenses such as a new tractor that is capable of completing our project and maintain the project in the future is critical at this point. We plan on using hands on labor as much as possible and using our knowledge of physics to help, but the tractor would make life more tolerable and allow us to do even more in the future.. We plan on using this as a model for education and community building.

If you know of any sources for funding or are interested in investing please contact me As soon as possible.

We do not want assistance from the government in anyway. We are Not looking to be a business venture  but an educational and life resources model for the benefit the world.

About Us" we are ranchers, homesteaders, home schoolers, and we support home birth, Breast feeding and We believe in God. We are and will remain un-political and will remain Un-denominational in our Christian belief also.

If you help please let me know.
Sincerely

Joshua

First off it would be better to get a milk breed goat that has just been bred. That way you get to know the goat and experience the birthing process. You would then have the milk.

As for bottle babies it amazes me how people who breast fed thier human children and were breast feeding advocates in some cases turn so quickly to bottle feeding baby animals. There are cases where it is necessary, but not because it is more convient.

In my experience bottle fed goats do not do as well long term. They tend to be sicker over all and often are smaller.

In my experience having the baby goats horns removed only damage the goat. Their horns are there for a reason, they are NOT decorations. A goat who is handled regularly will present no more danger than a goat without horns. I have small children and many homeschool children who visit our farm and no  one has ever been hurt by horns.
As for the unwanted kids, you need to watch the animals that are rejected simply because they don't producewhat the owners are looking for. More often than not these animals spend the first days of thier lives away from thier mothers and are not considered importaqnt and often are just discarded. It would be better to find a local breeder whohas grade goats for sale unless you are considering showing your goats.
please feel free to mail me if you have any questions for if we asa community share our experience our lives as a whole are enriched.

For some time now I had been "looking " for other like minded individuals to go along our journey with. That method has failed us. Then with lots of prayer and open hearts we came upon folks who wanted what we have now and more importantly wanted what we were about to do. We have since purchased land and are currently in the moving / building stage. We have spend a large amount of time having very frank disccussions about our goals and limitations. We have spent more than 50% of our wake time together either on the phone or at each others houses, so we can get to know the good the bad or the ugly of each other before making the move. Our plan is to share a home with pods at either end for the individual families, sharing a central community room that will be the kitchen / living room, school, and dinning room. For us God has been the director in all that we do.
Peace be with you in your journey.
