This is such a great thread. My eyes stopped at the longest train route map. Spain to Thailand by rail..

How much rain do you get up there? In Moon Valley? I have property in the San Luis Valley I want to sell, to cold for me there and no rain.

I'll get right down to the point: I want a permaculture homestead, and a good wife. It's gotta have water or get so much rain I can build a pond. If you like heavy machinery, that's fine we can build the pond together. I did Geoff Lawton's PDC online and have been to Australia a few times, so if you're Australian let me know. I consider myself vegetarian, but will eat meat if I decide I'm going to war (which hardly ever happens). I gotta have lots of chickens + turkeys + ducks + peacocks + any other experimental possibly domesticated bird for eggs and entertainment. And goats because they make normal milk for grown people. Trees are my income, spirituality, and what I can relate almost anything to.

I'll make money in California and send some to you wherever you are in USDA Zone 9a (or higher) for a few more years while we get set up good and plenty. We can start multiple business and accept cash, crypto, gold & silver only. Yes, I like cats. 6-37 of them are just fine with me, as long as I get to name a few and eventually rename SOME of those with their nicknames. Most of the animals will be rescues (it can be our weird interest the muggles don't understand), including Benny the pig, Kev the horse, and Butch the mastiff. We can film our rescues. I'm not afraid of commitment, though I really do not want the wedding posted on your Instagram.

Got kids? That (up to 3) is fine, I hope they like muddy feet, Stoic philosophy, a strict "don't ask, don't tell" fart & booger policy, starting fires with magnifying glasses, and dad-built ziplines. Gotta have side-impact-rated helmets in bins everywhere. Would I have a kid? Maybe, but he/she might turn out to be a demi-god so watch out, the birth could be rough.

Honestly, all this thinking about permaculture design has got me focused on priorities. I want all the zones on our permaculture farm, but especially a zone 4 or 5 reforested /agroforestry zone so you can secretly watch me chop wood, which I do ambidextrously and always with a big ridiculous smile. Oh, you thought I'd be there again today? Nope. I'm in the garage, Zone 3..greasy knuckles and diesel jeans fixing the truck listening to Rodney Dangerfield clips and drinking your delicious cider, babe.

After the system matures there will be hardly anything to do but enjoy the benefits and fall deeper in love each day.

Hello,

I am in the process of obtaining land for my homestead. It would be great to buy some land (5+ acres) in a region with plenty of rain and higher/warmer than Zone 9a/b. So I am looking for others on here who have land for sale or near them. Ideally land with water on it. I'm not in a rush yet and would consider outside the US, especially Australia.

Hello. I have the drive to get out of the rat race and homestead, too. Check out my post:

I know what I want, who I am, what I am capable of, and where I am going. I have my aim and my resources. But I walk alone, I have been a busy nomad for a few years, and now have options for the future. In less than a decade I will have the option to quit the monkey show and live comfortably in the country...Colorado is one option, Florida another, Texas another. I have spent time in Australia and even consider this an option. But I do not have a partner. I am looking for one who can finish her path parallel with mine, getting to know each other better as we go along toward that next stage of life into the bush to do our thing.
