Matt: My father in law told me about the possibility of Grainger carrying what I wanted. He only mentioned it after I told him that items on Amazon could get damaged in the shipping process. Having the item shipped to a local Grainger store would allow me to review the item and turn down any damaged material. It seemed reasonable, so I reached out to those who are more knowledgeable to see if  it was up to spec.

Any chance you would be willing to share some your spreadsheeting data?

Tom: I could definitely get on board with 3000F rated bricks but a 9 hour drive is a stretch. I will have to continue my search locally.

Afternoon Everyone.
Staring out into a rare bit of sunshine here in Western Michigan thinking about the planned start of a rocket stove build per the available funds. A brief internet search on ceramic fiber board surfaced some machinable ceramic insulation (https://www.grainger.com/product/IIG-1-in-x-24-in-x-48-in-Calcium-19NE52) offered by Grainger.
The temp rating is a bit lower than the 2300F most often referred to in the forum, so I was wondering if this is a suitable substitute. Any guidance is welcome. Thank you.
