Hello! I am restoring an old house in a very humid climate. I need to use a lime solution to keep the drywall paper from molding this summer, and I can use a simple lime and water solution for the backside of the drywall, because it's the back. I would like to (lime) plaster the front for a finish, but I would like to know if anyone has a good recipe using clay or similar, to make the lime less chalky, and maybe more durable. (I've got multiple children, so I need the walls to stand up to quite a bit.) Do I need to do multiple coats of lime if it's over a smooth surface like drywall? Is it compatible with clay? I've been warned that it breathes differently than some materials and can crack. Any help is greatly appreciated, and I apologize for my beginnerness.
