So sorry that happened. I agree that 4 kids is a lot for a goat mom to manage without help, especially if any one of them is in a difficult position prolonging the effort to expell it. The mother can lack the energy to clear their airways and get them dried off. It’s important to learn the signs of near delivery, confine the mama and check her regularly. I Nigerian goats that routinely have triplets and quads and I have a goat that has quints twice. When they have broods this large, I usually supplement bottle feed to endure that every one gets enough. I practically live in the barn during kidding season.
