The mother can lack the energy to clear their airways and get them dried off. It’s important to learn the signs of near delivery, confine the mama and check her regularly. I Nigerian goats that routinely have triplets and quads and I have a goat that has quints twice. When they have broods this large, I usually supplement bottle feed to endure that every one gets enough. I practically live in the barn during kidding season.
