Everything you are doing sounds like a lot of work. You must be getting stronger every day.
I love the fact that you are taking pictures of your activities. This is quite a journey you are on. Thanks for sharing your posts!

Hi Cam.  We just got back from our cottage at Lake Talon.  I just spend the last few minutes reading your posts and looking at the creative  things you are doing. Your posts are so well written and I enjoy the bits of humour along the way.
When you say "we started by preparing ..." who is we?  Are you working alongside other people? Do they live on the homestead as well?
It seems as if you have a new plan almost every day creating something new or newly-repaired using whatever is handy.
I am interested  to know if you ever did create bone meal.   ( I thought bone meal came in a box that you buy at a gardening outlet. ) We planted some cherry tomato plants at the cottage and added bone meal to the soil.
How long do you plan to live at this place?
Keep up the posts and pictures.  They're very enjoyable.

I just read your post about using the sickle and scythe.  I sounds as if the rainy weather has not robbed you of your sense of humour.  Happy to see you are wearing work gloves! I'm enjoying your posts.  I visited with Norman Jean and Bert Neilsen yesterday.  Bert will look forward to a visit with you when you are home from this "adventure in permaculture". (You were at their home years ago and rode their old snow machine.)  Bert is continually colleting items and machines that it seems no one else wants, and he recycles everything.  He also has his own saw milling tools.
I keep wondering about meals.  Who does the cooking?

I'm curious about the fiddleheads.  Did you have them for supper? I have only tried them once with a bit of lemon juice and butter.  Did you enjoy them?

Those 3x10 beds look like a lot of work.  Will you end up planting vegetables in these beds?
