This thread might be dormant but I’ve had great luck with a cheap, electric chipper shredder from Harbor Freight. It doesn’t take anything larger than 1.5 inches, but it deals w large collections of reeds pulled fresh from our rain garden, which are both very fibrous and high moisture.
It isn’t the highest /capacity/ machine, but so far it works great
Haven’t tried any tomato stems yet tho!
