Since coppicing holds a tree at a younger age, what are the approximate longevity differences between a coppiced vs a pollarded tree? Or are there any?
I would echo what 'Bloomah' wrote. The initial start up costs can be daunting. When starting from scratch and you have a blank slate with no infrastructure, that is a lot. Gardeners and growers understand that their investment will bear fruit after several years of care and patience. It is tough to wait though.
The local university or state extension offices sometimes have programs where they give away native trees and plants for free. This helps cut down costs and is good for the local ecosystem. Responsible wild harvesting can help grow the plant bank too.
Justin Rhodes tells a good story. That is one reason his work is enjoyable to read and listen to. Good storytelling makes learning more memorable. Thanks! And keep it up.
Hi. You could do a scratch test to see if it is definitely rock and not glass. It looks like aquamarine at first glance. If there are any beige spots or in proper light it is darker then it might be an apatite. So pretty!
