My cabin is 24'24' ish with I think a 45 degreeish pitch roof. Attached are pics (just bought this cabin very much a work in progress right now). Will look at the thread posted above and thanks for the tips!

Yeah I'm hoping so. We're on the grid and would love to be off. But even more urgently - I recently purchased this property with other folks. My cabin is shoddily daisy chained to another cabin (with interior wire just laying on the ground lol) on the property and it's obviously not getting the power it needs and probably has questionable safety especially once I get all set up in here to live for the winter. I have some very basic electrical knowledge enough to set up solar under ideal conditions but I'm a little overwhelmed about this project / if it's possible (for me).

I will get you some dims and a pic tomorrow. The shed is my cabin - just has a shed roof on it. I guess a lot of people advise against reverse tilting and I can't speak to how well the cabin is constructed as it's a small (but not tiny) basic cabin in the sticks without code.

I haven't seen much info about this really on the web. I want to know if it's possible to use a tilt kit on my north facing roof. I live in a small cabin I bought with a shed roof that faces north. The lot is very wooded and I could not ground or pole mount without significant tree removal that would drastically change the "woodsy" feel of the property. I only require a very basic solar setup as I'm pretty minimal (propane fridge, wood stove for heat, just need to run electronics and if possible tools). I want to know if it's possible to use a tilt kit to mount a few solar panels and get the electricity I need.

My experience is in Maine they ask you where you want it assuming that you probably want it as close to your abode as possible (which I would like - not sure if im going to use a hand pump or plumbing but both the closer the better). There just happens to be two outhouses close to two cabins that are fairly close to each other. So I'm wondering what people's experiences and thoughts are about outhouses and wells.

They are about 160 feet deep at a minimum.

I'm trying to figure out where to get a well drilled at my new property in northern Maine. There are a couple old outhouses that haven't been used in many years (I think). I know people say it should be 100 feet away but wanted to get opinions. Having a hard time figuring out where to get the well drilled for it to make sense and be close to the cabins and off a driveway for the drillers but not be too close to the outhouses..
