Pattersons Pride, Pembina and a wild Canadian plum which pollinates the other two for solid crops.
I live in Edmonton and all three have showed no winter kill in the 10 years I have been growing them. Pattersons Pride is the best eating of the three with large excellent tasting fruit. The pembina is good eating and very juicy.
The Pattersons Pride is consdered a zone 2 plum although it may only be zone 3. Pembina is zone 3 and also very hardy.
I am planning to move to BC where I will have more options and want to grow Pattersons Pride there as it is such a good plum.
