I will always swear by bars of Irish Spring Soap in my travel trailer! Sticky traps tend to be inhumane and I have an irrational fear of rodents so keeping them out of my life in the first place is desirable. They hate the smell and if it doesn't work for you, you didn't have to waste a bunch of money.
