We have just gotten chickens and I went all the way with 18. We have had a compost pile working for about a year and just moved it into the run. I am excited to start a rotation and no feed. They are about 6 weeks old and we are looking forward to Freedom Eggs! We bring them in at night while we finish the coop. They go right to sleep already. We also started them off by giving them worms and June bugs before they were ever outside and it is always a great game of June Bug Football. We love our chickens already and are making steps to get closer to nature. Time to recognize the abundance all around.
