New to Permies.
Hi - my name is David - living in Bethany Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City, U.S.A. I am retired (talk about privilege!) I have been a back yard gardener for many years - and done quite a bit of reading on permaculture. Currently reading 'Paradise Lot,' and also 'Restorative Agriculture.' I live on 1/2 acre lot - and have 28 raised beds - each 4' x 12' - all annual production. I want to develop my home into a perennial food system - and of course am really struggling with 'how the hell do I even begin to take a bite out of this task.' As far as I can tell - there is not much happening in Oklahoma City regarding permaculture etc. - so I have resolved to take on the task of finding out what resources there are here - and facilitating a local permie group - to network, and collaborate. I agree with Eric Toenesmeier - that we must re-imagine our whole society - or go extinct. So this seems to me like a good place to start - in terms of becoming a part of the solution. I have so so much to learn - and am excited at the possibilities. Any connections in Oklahoma that any one can pass on to me - would be so much appreciated - in terms of permaculture, restorative agriculture, social change in response to climate change - and the imbalance of the toxic capitalist system. Thanks in anticipation.
David.
