It reminds me of all the folktales with the magical food providing implements. Here's a bit of Russian folklore about the proper care and respect for your Magic Tablecloth should you be so fortunate as to acquire one ;) and of course, as the wise Russian fokin-hoe user mentions on this site, our gardens are akin to these magic tablecloths - and like them, they even take back the scraps as compost!
