Good grief, people! I had 3 common goldfish live for years in a raised shallow (maximum 6" deep) round pond with no vegetation...just some rocks for them to hide in. Fed them every 2 days with goldfish food...they were hardy. One day my next door neighbor's brat dumped my pond off the pedestal while we were out of town. When I came home there was one fish barely alive. I immediately put him in my fountain where he hung on the bottom for a few days, shed skin from sunburn, rolled around on the bottom and in a few days was healthy enough to put in the aquarium. He didn't have much spirit left so I found a female for him and he was absolutely joyous. Spirit and Hope lived together for years in a friend's much larger pond, where they lived happily with other goldfish for another few years, before a pump failure caused all the fish to die. Spirit and Hope made me believe all creatures have souls!
