I know this is a really old post but thank you all for sharing your successes. I have a hen that went broody and her eggs were 4 days apart in hatching, today being the last of them. I also had a 2-1/2 week old incubator finished chick from the “mom” giving up being broody. At 2pm today I added my 2-1/2 week old chick in behind the hen. This hen has been extremely tolerant of letting me candle her eggs right from underneath her, inky getting worried when there was only one egg left. She took right to her new addition and even cleaned bits of poop stuck to his booty.
