Hello all! I'm in the planning phase (which seems to want to take forever) of homesteading, and one of the things I've been interested in is the idea of building a home with earthbags. But my husband doesn't like the look of the earthbags, and has always wanted a brick home. I was thinking of using brick veneer instead of plaster on the outside of the house, but I haven't been able to find anyone else who did it. Is there any reason it wouldn't work? Is there another way of achieving that look (stamps, etc...)?
That's my current question. I'm sure I'll have others along the way. Homesteading is actually kind of a retirement plan for me. I want to grow all our food and sell enough to pay for the taxes, and that's it. I want to get the systems set up so that the land can sustain us into our twilight years (as opposed to trying to start them after retirement begins).
