We live in Wendell, NC. We have about 9 goumi bushes that are about 7-10 feet tall. They are different varieties we picked up from Burnt Ridge and One Green World. Some are very large but less flavor and others are small but are tasty. They are not invasive as we have not seen any volunteers from the drops. Our chickens and dog enjoy the lower branches. We usually make jam but my wife has met with success making wine too. Today I was online looking for other recipes. We get more than enough berries each year. Many of them are stored in our top load freezer. The 3rd week in May is when the berries are usually ready. We put rubber snakes in the trees to keep the squirrels and birds away but there are plenty to share. I bought some plants for my brother in Michigan and he said the cardinals love the bushes.
