Thanks for the replies. Turns our she was full of cancer, and she passed away earlier this week.

I've got a 14 month old female Hampshire pig. She's having some health issues. At first we thought that it was 'girl stuff', and that's what the vet diagnosed. So we waited a few days but she didn't improve. We then believed she was constipated since she seemed to really strain when trying to go #2, and nothing would come out, so we spent 5 days stuffing her with different kinds of enemas, feeding her oil, and giving her all sorts of stool softeners and laxatives. All types, for man and beast. Then, she got a little fever, and we put her on antibiotics and a de-wormer. She eventually pooped a little, but not much. She seems to have slightly labored breathing, and occasionally tries to throw up (or it looks like that anyway)

We're more than 2 weeks into this, and she is incredibly lethargic and will only eat/drink chicken broth. NOTHING ELSE. She sleeps most of the time, but does sit up when we make her and walks around a little bit, too. Just no idea what else makes a pig not want to eat. She seems in a little bit of pain when she tries to lay back down, but other than that seems pain free. She's urinating and drinking water, too.

Any guesses out there?

Good day-

I began hosting WWOOFers on our vegetable farm in around 2012.  The first few years were great.  Met some great people and even got a few chores done.  I'm not sure what happened, but in around 2017 our typical guest began to change.  They were no longer folks looking for an experience or for a mutually beneficial relationship and instead it became people who were looking for a free place to sleep as they traveled.  Some refused to even attempt to help in the gardens or help making dinner.  Several drug issues.  A couple of folks that we were outright scared of.  So we stopped hosting, and here we are several years later thinking back on the good guests we had (mostly international), we're considering hosting again.  How are guests these days? Has WWOOF done anything to weed out the folks who aren't WWOOFing for the right reasons?
