My small mushroom farm needs to expand and will get its own building this spring. The fruiting chamber will be 6x12x8 feet and I intent to lime plaster the walls and ceiling. The floor will get some 12" tiles. I have laid tiles but the lime plaster is new to me. The fruiting chamber will be 16-18C and 80-95% humidity 24/7.

How will the plaster interact with that environment?

How long will it last, assuming its well applied.

Can I use lime plaster to waterproof the walls and ceiling?

Can a guy stop with the float coat and not apply a finish? if the fruiting chamber turns out well, Ill probably plaster most of the remaining walls but these do not need to look perfect. How well does the second coat seal the wall?

Any consideration in applying the plaster onto 1/2 drywall over 16' 2x4 framing?

Has anybody else done this in their fruiting room?

As the title states, I'm after some resources/reading material that covers permaculture and specifically agroforestry in cold climate areas. I'm up in Canada in a the 3b/3a growing region and most of what I can find online or otherwise just doesn't account for regular -30C winters or for 14 week growing seasons. Last year we had several weeks of -40, peaking at -47 without windchill.

Any suggestions on reference materials?

Thanks all,
DM
