We are a 20 acre homestead, off grid, seeking ongoing help in exchange for room and board.
We can offer either a private furnished room in the main house with my partner, myself and one cat, or a camp/van/RV spot.
Current projects include: repair/upgrade of yurt, install of outhouse, outdoor shower. Replacement of old cabin roof, install of solar pump for water system.
Ongoing projects include gardening/food preservation, installing food forest guilds, trail maintenance, as well as firewood and blackberry/thistle management, animal care, cleaning, etc.
We are a mainly vegetarian household but not militant if you wanted to cook the occasional piece of meat.
Ideally, meals are shared including cooking and clean up. Though if you are self-sufficient (say, remote working from your van or rv), you are welcome to participate or not. We have high-speed satellite internet and often enjoy movies and game nights together.
We are open to short or long-term stays, depending on how everyone "clicks", and ask for a one week commitment to start.
Be a non-smoker please. Social drinking and occasionally getting high acceptable.
