I was raised on a farm and we didn't have any store bought eggs in our house so we were taught how to check our eggs 1st see if they float, old eggs float because as they get bacteria in them , it produces CO2 causing them to float. If they float throw them away, you're wallets will thank you because dogs get food poisoning too & since vets bills and new dogs are more than a couple of eggs it doesn't take a genius to figure this out!
2nd off colored yolks--  green can mean an excess of riboflavin in the diet, or that a bird has eaten a weed called shepherd’s purse, which is pretty common & I suspect is the reason  your eggs have  a green tint,  dark green indicates a bird has eaten oak or acorns (especially in ducks), fluorescent green can indicate the presence of bacterial contamination, pink and watery is a sign a bird has been eating mallow (a common weed and  an off white warm egg will have a cloudy white that will turn white once it cools off!  So if you have an egg that floats crack it open and it's a florescent green throw it away!  If you find that the off colored white is off-putting and they don't float go ahead and give it to the dog!  He'll like the extra riboflavin in the egg!
