Hi,
I am currently living semi off-grid with my many rescue dogs and cats (in a lovely mountain property, but connected to mains amenities/electricity/water), the property is located in Spain, Europe, although I am of British nationality.
However I am planning to move to a 25,000m2 / 269,098 ft2 (2.5 hectares) river beach paradise, in Portugal (Europe) which is totally off-grid.
The property has a crystal clear river and a river beach. As you can see from the photos, it's an absolute paradise!
Portugal is fast becoming one of the most popular off-grid locations, as it is similar in many ways to New Zealand, and so far relatively undiscovered.
I would like to find someone to share this life style with. Ideally I would like a relationship with a female, but would even settle for a friendship with the right person.
Apart from my immense love of animals, and living off-grid, I also have a passion for Motorcycles, of which I have many including a beautiful customised Harley. “I realise this may not appeal to those who are apposed to anything that has a big internal combustion engine”, hence my ideal person would be someone who loves animals, and living off-grid, but who also is not only willing, but who may enjoy the adrenaline and excitement of motorcycle riding (or just pillion on the back of my motorcycles), and possibly other adventure sports/activities, which I may get involved in, either as a hobby, or a business to generate an income once I locate to Portugal.
As an alternative, or even as a additional to adventure sports I am also considering opening a wellness retreat for people who are physically and emotionally drained, and either need to recharge, or just find themselves in a natural paradise. This project could possibly also include a retreat for people who are wanting to quite or recuperate from an alcohol or drug addition, or other emotional issues. I even considered starting an off-grid community.
However, I want to wait until I relocate to Portugal before deciding which option/s I feel I would most like to pursue. I my even decide just to enjoy this paradise in it's purity and not get involved in any business ventures.
About myself: As you may have already guessed; I am not your average, or should I say “normal” (I am sure there is a better word than normal) , off-grid person (not at this moment anyway, though that may change in the future).
I would describe myself more an “Off-grid Alpha”. I have a very strong character which has a mix of Alpha and Sigma traits (if you don’t know what those are, please research the internet.
However, I suppose I have to disclose that the more dominant side of me loves nature and living off-grid, or at least "far from the madding crowd".
I could even do without my love of engines and the adrenaline rush, but I cannot do without nature and being in the wilderness.
If I was forced to choose between one or the other, I would without doubt, choose nature and my animals. I could not live a life of motorcycles and high adrenaline all, or even most of the time, where as I could easily be content and satisfied with a totally off-grid simple lifestyle, and possibly even give up on the high adrenaline hobbies.
In fact, I want to get more into nature and off-grid living, hence the intention to move from my semi off-grid location in Spain, to this totally off-grid paradise in Portugal.
Having said that I must admit that the property in Portugal has I newly renovated/built small house of 78m2 (840ft2) on the land, so I still have some creature comforts. It was originally a stone ruin, but has been totally renovated/rebuilt, just needs finishing off with solar energy and a water purification system to bring constant water from the crystal-clear river.
I have deliberately not mentioned age as I believe it to be irrelevant. You can see and decide from my very recent photos if you believe my age is suitable for you. Likewise your age is not an important issue for me. I am open to all ages and believe a persons character and personality is more important than numbers, which in a lot of cases do not accurately reflect the physical or mental condition of a person.
As I previously stated; I would ideally love to find someone to have a wonderful long term relationship with, however I am also willing to consider spending time as “just friends”, with someone that would like an off-grid adventure in Spain and Portugal, but without the commitment of a relationship.
PS: I currently don’t have photos of myself with hiking clothes and a rucksack, or of me working on the land in my everyday old clothes. I assure you that most of the time this is my general appearance, and ask you to use your imagination.
PPS: In addition; I am not bald, I have a full head of hair, which until recently was very long. Although I have to admit that as the colour is now "salt and pepper", which I am not so keen on, I thought I would have a change and shave it all off. At least this way I eliminated the need for shampoo.
