I'm the original collector/selector of Tefoe purple & Tefoe Red(red vine bulbifera), Tefoe yellow.
These are pretty awesome "root" crops.
I've tried to collect as many as possible over the years, but its not as easy keeping the bulbifera alive & going as the other dioscorea I collect. Not that they're difficult, just that you have to keep up with them or they don't always regrow every year like the more vigorous types... and you know, life & cool super productive, rare crops, just gets away from you.
Anyway, I'd like to see this thread keep growing.

I've researched & done extensive swamp hunt'in for these edible bulbifera and you would fall over if you saw the diversity in these "wild" bulbifera throughout the southern US.
Definitely BS that these where a one time introduction that just happened to be toxic....
