Have you eaten sweet potato flowers raw (and lived)?
I have an abundance and they are lovely. Thanks!

See Ken Peavey's comment. IT IS THE TRUTH!!!
Florida Betony is no one's friend, even tho potentially an edible, until the apocalypse (Heaven forbid!). NO ANIMALS CHOOSE TO FORAGE IT!!!
I'm in GA zone 7b and it is relentless. Of all the methods in Ken's comments, only the sifting of garden bed soil for plants, roots, and tubers, even begins to give relief. And that will need to be redone, but looks like it might actually work if repeated to elimination. (I've been doing it!)
Pulling plants leaves tubers and roots, so just makes you feel better. If you only have a few, DO IT! If you're covered up with it, not a solution. We even solarized the garden, which was a temporary, falsely promising solution. Once the fall growth spurt came, it was a Florida Betony field day all over again. Alas.
Conclusion: DO NOT INTENTIONALLY PLANT FLORIDA BETONY !!! You WILL be sorry.

If you plant, you will regret it. It is the visitor that refuses to leave. In my opinion, it is NOT tasty; edible, but not tasty. And washing the tubers is labor intensive. DO NOT PLANT FLORIDA BETONY!
