Life on the edge can be inspiring. It can also be lonely.
If you are part of a small organization, grassroots project, local group or currently on your own, working on topics like sustainability, community or education in a peripheral, rural, or otherwise remote region of Europe, then this open call is for you.
We are building a decentralized network of people and projects at the margins. We know the challenges: distance, lack of peers, limited resources. We know the strength that comes from finding others walking similar paths. That's why we want to connect with you, and help you connect with each other.
Creating Connections is part of a wider EU-supported collaboration called Peripheral LINKs (
https://links.vihreapourusmaki.fi/) between small organizations, maybe similar to yours. We are reaching out to start conversations and relationships that can lead to mutual support, shared knowledge, future partnerships and real connection.
The network will offer:
☘ A bi-monthly online call for getting to know each other, peer exchange and inspiration
☘ A messaging group (WhatsApp) for everyday support and sharing
☘ A simple email newsletter with opportunities and updates
☘ Invitations to collaborate in a larger Convergence event in early 2026
We are especially interested in hearing from people and projects in places like:
🇪🇺 countries on the edge of Europe like Finland, Ireland, the Baltics, Romania, Portugal...
🇪🇺 rural areas in places like Eastern Germany or the French countryside
🇪🇺 overseas areas of Europe: Canary Islands, Greenland, Sint Maarten...
🇪🇺 and any edge community making change happen where it’s hard but needed
