I've always had a minimal income and never really needed to do my taxes. I survived on Barter and the things I grew..

But things have taken a turn, and I'm starting to make more money with my work

I'm really nervous approaching the IRS. Does anyone have any insight or advice?

I'm building in a small little village that has powerlines. Recently, I heard a rumor that the county will force me to plug into the power grid in order to pass my final inspection.

Does anyone have experience with this?

A friend of mine told me to play the game and wire the house to code and plug into the grid. Once I pass all my inspections and move in,  just stop paying my bill and get disconnected and switch over to my own power.

In my area, the power company keeps raising the prices so I really don't wanna be plugged into their game. I don't use that much power and I would be fine on solar, but I don't wanna get into a headbutting situation with the county over it.

I appreciate any advice or insight
Thank you

I've been living in the same area for 13 years and the rodent battle seems never-ending. I refuse to resort to using poisons. I recently found a bait called rat X that is corn based. Supposedly rodents have a hard time digesting it and it doesn't hurt other wildlife, but I have no evidence that it's actually effective on rats and mice.

Currently, I'm using electric rat traps, but they're only good for one kill at a time. They're expensive. And tend to stop working after about six months.

I've tried the bucket technique, but the chipmunks and squirrels eat everything off those traps.

I've tried snap traps in many different configurations, but the rats are just too smart.

I've removed everything I can that would be considered a food and water source. My cats can only do so much with the mice, but they don't wanna mess with the rats..

I would love to hear people's input in solutions. I'm in New Mexico and this is an ongoing problem almost everywhere.. but all the locals use poison, which risk hurting other wildlife which I'm not willing to do

Thanks for your help in this
