Hello, everyone! Great site! I've just joined and have already learned so much! I'm about to acquire two 6-7 week old kunekune piglets. I had planned to get some in the future, but these are being offered to me for free, so I'm jumping in with both feet! I've never raised pigs before, so I have a ton to learn!
My first question is about keeping them warm. Nighttime temperatures in the Portland Oregon area are approximately 35-40 degrees at this time of year, and I'm having a hard time getting my head around how I'm going to keep a pen 88 degrees. If I even had a pen yet, that is! Does anyone ever keep their pigs in the house for the first couple of weeks? Is that an insane idea? I'd need to figure out a way to contain them, but I'm not sure how big a container I need. I would welcome any suggestions!
