I'm hoping to try my hand at growing a grape vine. I found the perfect location minus a possible problem.
I want to use a high cordon trellis at 5 feet tall. But the first two feet will be in complete shade.
If i grow the grape vine in a container until the trunk is at least four feet tall before planting into the ground can a 4 foot grape vine survive if the first 2 feet are in shade? Everything above 2 feet will be full sun.
Also can grapes handle being near roots from hostas?
