We're living in an 1880's farmhouse, only 20 miles from where I grew up. I'm a lifelong gardener, nurse, Reiki master and herbalist and not yet retired at the age of 69. I found this site when I was searching for info in fermenting herbs. Normally I either dry them or make tinctures. So now that I'm here I will "lurk" more often. It's almost 6am and the temp is finally in the 40's outside, so time to do some gardening. Have a great day!

My mom would make comfrey oil that way, by packing in an amber jar and leaving it in a dark warmish cupboard for a few years. She passed on quite a few years back, and I've since moved to an old farmstead near where I grew up. There is a lot of comfrey on the property. It's budded now. As soon as blossoms appear I will harvest some to juice along with jewel weed and keep in the freezer. I will also be grinding some and fermenting it.
