I just read this article

https://gsas.harvard.edu/news/dammed-if-they-do

about beavers after wanting to learn more which was inspired by some beavers in the Czech Republic recently building a dam somewhere that government officials and engineers were already planning to do the same. The beavers did a great job and saved everyone so much time and money. I want to know how they know the perfect place to build, and how they identify the environment that needs them.

I did a couple that weren't well attended. I'll probably do light clay straw and earthen plaster work parties in the winter/spring. I might also do something with lower cost materials like soap making to see if I can generate more of a following before trying more of the spendy projects.

I’m sorry they weren’t well-attended! I work at a candle shop that does pop up workshops every so often - idk if any of your ideas would be portable and palatable for beginners and creatives but my boss really cares about sustainability so I think it might be worth checking out sometime?
The branding is pretty feminine and cozy, and anything nature or botanical themed aligns well with the space. If you’re ever looking for a space to do something maybe more convenient to Austinites that live central or up north?

Did you ever get this project underway? I have a bathroom sink basin I’m trying to make into a pond or bird bath, but having a hard time plugging the drain hole with just regular plugs. Seems to be impossible without the fittings. Wondering how you did it?
