Hi all. I found this website today and it's amazing! I'm currently a teacher in a big city but my heart already lives in the wild (probably somewhere off-grid in the US Southwest.)
I've been furiously saving money over the last few years so I can buy a piece of land and start a homestead. I'm very interested in "greening the desert" type ideas like swales, check dams/BDAs, etc. My dream is to bring a dry steam back to life year round or nearly year round.
I'm here hoping to learn new ideas and to meet like minded people. I'm also open to partnering with the right person or people who have similar ambitions. Perhaps together we could bring a whole valley back to life and build a desert oasis for our children and grandchildren.
