Hello! I see this 10-year-old conversation about bagasse. I am looking at making small personal gardens for people in need in 1' x 1' squares for a nutritional boost. For delivery, I am considering compostable disposable plates (bamboo 70% and bagasse 30%), with hemp growing mats and a bit of growing material. When I began looking at bagasse and noted it can be used to make a biofuel, my one big question is: Will the use of bagasse in a growing project introduce toxins into the food? One of you indicated that you only use organic bagasse. I will work at developing a garden that will grow with little water for a desert region so don't think the black mold will grow. My experience is limited and knowledge nil. Any helpful comments will be appreciated. YouMatter.
