Maybe hanging around the local feed store might help to meet a local farmer.

Checking with the local County Extension Agent always helped me.  They are a great source pamphlets and local information.

Thanks Anne! I'll get to know the local feed store and research the CEA. I didn't know about the County Extension Agent, great advice.

Hello, fellow homesteaders and permaculture enthusiasts!

We are a family of six who recently purchased a beautiful 25+ acre property in Sadieville, Kentucky, with the vision of creating a fully self-sufficient homestead. Our goal is to cultivate a thriving, regenerative farm that not only sustains our family but also serves as an immersive learning environment for our children—teaching them the deep connection between land, nature, and community.

We’re looking for a permaculture farm consultant or experienced farmer who shares our passion and would be interested in living on-site and helping us develop the land. Ideally, you would have experience in:

Permaculture design and regenerative agriculture
Food forests, rotational grazing, or sustainable animal husbandry
Soil building, water management, and natural building techniques
Small-scale homestead operations (gardening, orchards, livestock, etc.)
Teaching and sharing knowledge (we love the idea of learning together!)

We envision a collaborative partnership—whether it’s work-trade, a consulting relationship, or another arrangement that aligns with our mutual goals. Housing options can be discussed.

If this opportunity excites you, or if you know someone who might be a great fit, please reach out! We’d love to connect and discuss how we can build something meaningful together.

Looking forward to hearing from like-minded folks!
