Mushrooms can be quite beneficial in composting. One thing, you mentioned is a lot of green leaf matter. When kept watered, and at a critical height of 2’ plus. You will get thermophilic bacteria…hot composting. Not good for shrooms,,until they cool off, then it’s enoki or oyster substrate. The quickest way to compost, tons of wood chips, is adding chicken manure, watering it in well, turning. It stinks!!! With mushrooms, you want fresher chips, limit the height of your chip mounds. Big mounds generate heat, under about 18” not so big of a deal. I only mention this because, like you, I have humongous piles going. While not recommended, I’ve composted whole deer carcasses, within several weeks when tucked under these smoldering hot piles (about 40” high) of whole tree chips, and chicken manure.
